Looking Back On Solitary Times
I long for times of solitude
When I’m in the woods
Anywhere, surrounded by nature and wildlife
And when I’m alone
I’m so at peace
Even in the dead of night
Sitting on a old log
Or a bus stop
Looking up to the stars and the moon
These are the times when my mind
Leaps alive and thoughts run free
So peaceful, so alone, so lovely
Hours pass and I don’t care
I just soak it all up
I’m at peace
Still, after all is said and done
I’d rather be with you
That’s when life feels complete
When I’m with you
Just us
Talking, joking, smiling, and more
I now know how Roy Fokker felt around Claudia Grant
And Rick Hunter with Lynn Minmei or Lisa Hayes
That was fiction; this is real and seems so much the same
Hard work and so much more must come first
Before it all falls together like a neatly designed puzzle
Tragedy struck Claudia and Roy, when he died in her arms
(Still longing for Claudia’s Pineapple Salad)
From Zentraedi wounds bravely accepted in combat
Rick fell in love with Minmei, but soon found it would not work
Then he fell in love with Lisa and everything worked out
As best as a fairy tale love in a disastrous war can
So I do my best and try to show you just what I feel
Hoping we can start that long trek towards love
Just say ‘yes’ when I ask you on a date
And it begins with no reason to look back
