Ok, from the title of my post you may have guessed what I am gonna blog on about. Yep, thats right, I saw X-men 3 today and I think they did a fairly well done didly do job. Anyways, I will try and give you my take of the film without giving it away or giving you too much info.
If you remember the end of X2, you may remember the little hint they gave us of Jean Grey coming back as the Pheonix. Well, I knew she would, but it a slightly different compacity than I had guessed. Anyway, she kicks some butt in this one.
Kelsey Grammar( did I spell that right?) played the role of beast quite well and I was impressed, I doubt many could have fit that role. Juggernaught seemed a bit too small, but yet more realistic in a since. Scott Summers and Xavier don't get much screen time, and the movie seems to go by a little fast. Not hard to keep up with, but rather could have been longer to tell the story better. Stan Lee's simple one scene role is kinda comic, but well placed.
Ok, so by now you probably know the premise and basic ideology behind the film. There is a so called cure to basically take and repress the mutant gene, Most mutants are against it. Magneto raises an army to stop it and the X-men try to stop him. WE lose some dear characters, we see others lose it and some just going to pieces in grief and whatnot. It is a powerful story! We see the old cliche of a father wanting to cure his mutant son, the son not wanting to give it up-the struggle the peace of it. HAHA. Yeah, funny how that scene works, you might say the father was saved by an Angel(oh know! I've said too much. lol). We see the danger room, briefly. The whole backbone of the story reminds me of the comics I read as a child. I felt sorry for Logan by the end. There was some foreshadowing in the beginging of the film that maybe we didn't need, but it worked. The filming style, cgi, acting, sound, and whatnot was smooth. The root of the "cure" was an odd choice if you will, but intriguing none the less. I really enjoyed it, and yeah I 'll buy it on dvd when it gets that far. The ending puts Hank in a position I would not easily see him in, yet a necessity if you will. The same for Logan. Talk about crossing some huge bridges in this film. We see three mutants lose or give up their powers/mutation......but will that last, the ending leaves me to believe there is more to come a fourth installment, but maybe I was just seeing a pawn move? when it was stationary? If so, we shall see a new era of X-men in the next installment. mwhaha. Cliffhanger yes and no. depends on how you see the pieces......Anyone for a game of chess? It's well done, so go see X3! NOW! or continue reading...
Trailers, oh how I love them and hate them. I can't wait for Superman, and Ghost Rider-two well done trailers. Also a new comedy, "My super ex-girlfriend", looks to be funny. Anyway, I know there are many movies in the works that should be good, like Fantastic 4 (2), Spidey 3, Transformers (oh yeah). Probably a few others I'm missing so yeah. Go to the movies. and reply to this with your take on it or whether you agree with me or not? lol, later.
