Grab A Little Prestige and Get Your Resurgence On!

Grab A Little Prestige and Get Your Resurgence On!

Aright folks, here we go. Yesterday I downloaded and began my trip back into warfare with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Resurgence Map pack.  And while I was at it, I decided to go on ahead and start of anew by entering prestige mode. Maybe that wasn’t so bright, I miss my AK-47! Anyways, on to the new maps and yes I’ve spent all day playing them over and over with all the variable game types save free 4 all.
First let’s take a look at the two maps brought back from Modern Warfare, Strike and Vacant. If you’ve played them in Modern Warfare, you’ll have a slight advantage. Although there are subtle changes here and there and an overhaul to the graphics, you’ll find game play much as it was the first time around.  Just watch your corners and you’ll be fine, most of the time.

Head on over to the Trailer Park and you’ll find a maze of various pathways to flank your enemies and get to your objectives.  It’s quite fun to run around both outside and inside these trailers, but with caution I warn you, this is not a map for sniping nor is it good to stay in one place too long. I found constant, cautious movement through the map was best. There are a few places that you could hide temporarily if need be, but the pool really isn’t one of them.

Fuel is not just an oil refinery; it’s a rather large map with plenty of room outside and inside. There are some great sniping spots as long as you keep your eyes and ears open. It’s pretty wide open on one side, while the other has office and warehouse buildings. You can find cover inside or in dumpster and behind barrels. There are even a few areas of tall grass to hide in.

Finally we get to go to the Carnival, or at least what’s left of it.  This map has it all, a Giant clown face, sniping positions, bumper cars, popcorn machines, and a rollercoaster. Yes, this map is awesome, but a great challenge. While there are plenty of places you could hide and or snipe from you will find that while the map is large, the enemy tends to find you. The angles are awesome; I found the sniper tower to be an easy a shot from a few areas. Thus I could eliminate the threat from a far, which is if he didn’t see me first. There is the area with the castle housing the bumper cars.  From there you’ll find its mid ground and while a good spot for picking of the enemy, they can flank you. The Funhaus has a few hidden gems, but is also heavily traveled. And while this may yet be the most fun, it’s also quite challenging.

All in all these maps bring some life back into one of the best selling games for the XBOX 360 and while 1200 points do seem steep, it’s actually worth it for those that are hardcore shooter fans. This also left me wondering what they have up their sleeve for the upcoming Black Ops game due out in November. We still got a lot of other great games soon to be out on shelves so stay tuned.
