When the lawsuit was settled and neither side seemed victorious, it also seemed all hope was lost. Take-Two Interactive had sued 3d Realms for failure to produce Duke Nukem Forever. 3d Realms shut down and Take Two went their own way. And it would seem that Pig Cops were a thing of the past, but recent rumors are swirling around that a third party developer may have taken over the project. That’s right rumors point to that developer being Gearbox Software. I certainly hope it’s true, I want more Duke Nukem. But who owns the rights? And what happened to the original team? And if true will this be totally awesome or a lame duck quick to release? Time will tell, but I have faith that Duke Nukem will one day return to blow up some alien Pig Cops in LAPD uniforms.
