new year

As if it wasn’t obvious, a new year has dawned on us. I suspect that technology and green technology and machinery and so forth will play a big role this year. But lets not speculate, rather let us enjoy life and whatever this year brings.

So what have been doing? Well, mostly working as always. But I do get out to the movies as often as I can and I’m an avid gamer. In the movies, I just saw The Spirit and while I believe the idea behind the film(the comic) was great, it is one that the styling used just can’t do it justice. It just felt lame and corny. The performances even felt lackluster.
What I saw next was an excellent film. One of the most enjoyable movies I’ve seen in quite some time. Now granted it isn’t in theaters yet, but trust me- you don’t want to miss this one. The movie is Gran Torino and it was a great movie, I’ll be going back to watch it again in the theaters and I’ll be getting it on dvd when it comes thus far. I won’t say anymore, because we will give a fuller review on next weeks podcast over at Disciplined Monkey Studios.

In gaming, I have continued to enjoy Gears of War 2. Although, I’ve put it down for a while to get through Call of Duty World at War. I’m really enjoy this one, especially the multiplayer aspects. The only problem is only one person on a single console can play on Xbox Live, so I can’t have a friend at my house playing along online. Yes, I play most of my games on the Xbox 360. But I did order me a PS3, not that any games really caught my eye. But movies in HD (Blu-Ray) sounds good to me. I’ll finally have all three of the latest consoles. Wii, 360, PS3, DS, PSP. Wow. lol.

Also got some work cut out with computer builds. I’ll post more details later. But suffice it to say, DDR3 memory is still too expensive and that slows me down in getting some of the components I need.
