Black Ops

 

I’ve been spending quite some time playing the latest Call Of Duty, Black Ops. I’ll give you some info on this game just in case your still on fence as to whether your going to pick this one up. Simply put this is an awesome game with a familiar feel.

The campaign is pretty straight forward in a covert operations kind of way. You are a US Operative reliving your past missions to uncover the truth to save the day. Your start in what appears to be the bay of pigs and then move on through Vietnam. You’ll travel all over the world. You’ll have your standard difficulty options from recruit to veteran. On regular you shouldn’t have too much trouble, but step up to veteran and you have to work hard to get through. If you get stuck or frustrated, simply press start and you can lower your difficulty. A new setting that was added this time around.

You get the typical set of weapons and a few new ones. My favorite is the crossbow with explosive bolts, and we also get the ballistic knife. And your find a tomahawk, nova gas-which is very useful in multiplayer, and equipment like the camera spike and motion sensor.

Multiplayer is where we see a few more changes. The killstreak rewards adds a few nice additions such as the RC-XD explosive car, Napalm Strike, and Valkyrie rockets. We have more customizations from face paints to the name plates. We get some new attachments like the flamethrower under barrel attachment that wouldn't work in the real world. Although most of the game play in multiplayer hasn’t changed; we do get some nice and fun game types. One is Wager match where you can bet against your opponents with the funds you earn in multiplayer. We also have contracts where we get paid to complete challenges. So we earn money and experience points. The money you use to buy weapons, attachments ,customizations and use to wager. Experience points are simply for ranking up. Level 50 unlocks Prestige mode and certain ranks will unlock certain items.

We also get Zombie mode again, where we can battle Zombies. And lastly Dead Ops Arcade which can be accessed from the main menu by pressing the left trigger, the then right trigger and repeat. You will get out of your interrogation chair and if you walk around you can find a terminal. At the terminal type DOA and you get to play.

All in all, this is a game worth buying and very fun to play! But one fair warning about multiplayer as I have found that hackers have taken advantage of the servers and you may get beat down too easily with them. Luckily, slowly they are being taken offline. But otherwise, go enjoy this game.
