Fans, Transform And Commune!

Botcon2011LogoBotcon is once again coming to Pasadena, CA. This week, June 2nd-5th, Transformers fans of all ages will descend upon the Pasadena Convention Center. Think of Botcon as another San Diego Comic Con, but only for Transformers, granted it is slightly smaller. This year they have the usual guests from the various cartoons, movies, comic books and more.

A few things going on this year are the Transformers Hall of Fame where Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg will be inducted for their work in the recent live action movies. Let’s face it, it was no small feat to bring our favorite bots to the big screen.

Many Autobots, in vehicle form, from the films will be on site for viewing. Activision will be allowing guests to play the new video game based on the this summer’s all but guaranteed blockbuster, Transformers: Dark of the Moon as well as the iOS app allowing you to fight the Decepticons while your on the go.

The Hub will be showing off it’s daytime Emmy Nominated cartoon series, Transformers: Prime. We are talking Question and Answers sessions, behind the scenes looks and photo ops. And of course IDW will be on hand to showcase the latest in the Transformers Comics. I know I can’t wait for the next issue! And then we have Jagex Game Studio who will be previewing their upcoming browser based Transformers MMO game.

Botcon is always a success with fans from all over the world coming not only for the exclusive events, but also to grab some one of a kind exclusive toys or comics. There is also a buyers area to find just about anything Transformers related. And then we have the gathering of bots with so many like minded individuals. I wish I could be there to catch all the excitement and crazy costumes and the occasional argument over what Kup said in the 1986 Animated Movie, it was all clean language I tell you! Or why have humans in the story arcs anyway? Do they really get in the way. Ha, but yes, as a collective unit and like minded people all of us Transformers fans get along quite well. Well, that is as long as Peter Cullen voices Optimus Prime; otherwise we may just see a riot combine from many bots, er, people.
Again, Botcon is something simply awesome and if you get the chance, you ought to go-it’s an Annual event that is an experience all it’s own.
