The End Is Here, SDCC

imageSan Diego Comic Con is over and what fun we had! From the announcements to the people we met it was just awesome. Here let me give you a taste of my Comic Con. Most of my days were filled with Panels and much of what I learned I tweeted @redneckpoet and between panels I was walking the floor talking with cool people, grabbing swag, or spending money on exclusives.

The news I gathered is stripped down here but none the less exciting! IDW announced Transformers comics would go bi weekly and the Chaos story arc begins with #24 back on Cybertron. Optimus Prime dies at #125. In January we get two ongoing Transformers series and an all digital one. Furman and Wildman return to finish the story they started with Marvel in the 1980’s. This begins in issue 81 through 100, starting in 2012. This means Transformers comics are going to be rocking and awesome in more ways than one!

Flashpoint: is a twisted quantum physics story line and it just looks epic. I want to read! Never was a huge Flash fan. And DC’s new 52 has a lot of surprises but from the little I have seen it does look good. Tempted to subscribe to a few.

More Transformers news from Hasbro. Rescue Bots cartoon coming in September and targeted to the younger kids.  Lots of new toys coming; deluxe DOTM Soundwave and Wheeljack look amazing. Transformers Prime toys are on the way. Again Soundwave for Prime is sweet and comes with laserbeak and the transformation is just like the show. And the cartoon gets darker moving into season 2 with possibly Unicron shaking things up and down. We also get a Transformers Ride in 3D based on the movie and yes, it does look fun.

Halo Collectors Edition looks pretty sweet! You can switch between the new and old graphics plus we still have the magnum! I’m still not sold on it, but we shall see. It will play the same as the original too!

I watched Batman Year One. It was faithful to the comics and well done. But it doesn’t flow and feel as good as the comic. Newer viewers, especially those have not read that comic will not enjoy it as much. I may write more later, But Jorge has more insight.

Bruce Tim’s Green Lantern the Animated Series has been excited. Looks great, good scripting with humor and it just felt good. Introduces the Red Lanterns. Could be a great success. The Flaming C is funny. but not likely to go anywhere. Conan O’Brien was just hilarious at the Green Lantern Panel.

That’s it for now. I need to rest and buy a new pair of shoes.
