need a printer?

Just a quick note, I’m stilling trying to get my little project(audio recording) perfected. But when its done, you’ll see it here.

Now onto something different. It’s no secret that I work in a retail stores, with my focus on technology products. The most common product I sell is printers, just about everyone needs one these days. A lot of my customers seem to be a little lost in the sea of printers on the market and the most often question I get is “How much does the ink cost?” for any given printer. Other than that I do have customers ask about quality and different types of jobs.

Overall though, I can make it easy on you.
HP has the new line of OfficeJet Pro 8500 is a great choice for home or small
business use. The ink is an incredible value, an average of $36 for 2200 pages
with the black extra large cartridge and the four color cartridges average about
$26 each for 1400 pages. Now this is an inkjet and features your fax, scanner,
copier, and printer in one. The Wireless model, is my personal choice as most of
us have laptops and it makes it a lot easier to print from say the couch.

But what about quality? Good question, your gonna get beautiful documents,
Laser quality prints and it even does a good job on photos. I had lots of
customers take these units home and so far they are all very happy with them.

Oh, did you want the specs. It’s a pretty quick machine printing up to 35 black pages per minute or 34 color pages per minute. It’s got a built in duplexing module for double sided printing. The scanner is a very high 4800 dpi and the print resolution is 4800 x1200 dpi. Each model of the three support connections through USB and Ethernet. The Wireless 8500 adds a 3.4 inch touch screen lcd and wifi, while the Premium 8500 adds a second tray and a second set of cartridges.
And if you need a just a printer with no scanner, copier, nor fax check of the Officejet Pro 8000 built on the same principles and cartridge system as the 8500.

Honestly, I can say that this will most likely be my next printer as well, although I have to have a reason to replace my current printers and they all work quite well.

Does the 8500 wireless have the ability to scan slides? The printer sounds very good.

The Officejet 8500 series is built more for documents than photos, even though it does do photos as well as the photosmart series, but it does not include the ability to scan slides. I would imagine this is something HP found very few customers needing, as of this post the last printer to feature the ability to scan slides was for HP the Photosmart C8180.
