Microsoft’s Kinect for the Xbox 360 is truly a step in the right direction. I have one and I enjoy it, except for one large caveat and that is my small space. I only have about 3-4 feet of gaming space. What does this mean? Well to put it simply, I cannot play 2 player games and even with single player games the Kinect sensor doesn’t always pickup my movements. I tried to correct this by mounting my Kinect on the wall above the TV and this did help, but only by a small margin.
And that is where Nyko comes in! They will be releasing the Zoom for Kinect and it looks like it should do a great job at giving us the ability to play in a smaller space. In fact with Zoom you can play up to 40% closer allowing people like me to play 2 player games! The Zoom simply clips on to the Kinect; it’s a simple product as it is essentially a wide angle zoom lens. The Zoom is expected to start shipping later this year for only $29.99. At a price that is very reasonable. While at E3 we got a very good look at it and I simply cannot wait to get one.
