I was reading what I wrote about the healthcare reform bill passing and I came to the conclusion that there was more I needed to cover and bring up. The first thing that comes to my attention is that we didn’t just enact healthcare reform we also brought in student loan reform too. The student loan reforms virtual mandates that the federal government be the only provider of student loans in this county in fact the majority of the supposed savings of the bill will come from this reform. Now if you coupled that with what the president said in the State of the Union address we might have an economic event that will destroy our economy in the least. What the president said is that Student loan payments will only be ten percent of the total income you bring in and the debt will go away after twenty years, ten if you work for the federal government. My thoughts on this are what’s going to happen when we start to see people not paying off the debt they owe. Who will be stuck with their bills and what will be the full affect of the collection of all that debt. Don’t get me wrong I’m in the student loan boat to and I hate it with a passion. But I was the one who put me here and I’m going to be the one gets me out of it not the government.

Single payer, public option, or insurance market place what’s the difference if in the end you have the majority of the funds coming from the federal government isn’t that socialized healthcare. Under the bill you will have sixty percent of all involved in the program will have the government pay for their healthcare does that seem fare. The other thing is we will have thirty two million people on the same plan will we have a system capable to treat everybody at comparable care. If you read the bill those in congress and the president will not even be forced into the same system as everybody else, I would think if you forcing me on to this plan you need to be right there with me. Lastly to the requirement that mandates that all citizens will to have to get healthcare insurance, for the first time you have a requirement to be an American citizen or you will be fined or jailed. The IRS will have the responsibility to insure that you have the adequate coverage if you don’t you get an additional tax at tax time. Just a little history lesson who do you think brought down Al Capone the treasury department. When Al Capone was responsible for hundreds of murders, prostitution rings, drugs, boot legging, bribing and acts of extortion what charges eventually sent him to prison Tax evasion. And now we have that same mentality again this time it’s healthcare.

In the end what’s going to happen ten years down the line how about twenty years down the line will we end up like Europe or Massachusetts where the government controlled healthcare is to expensive to maintain, or will we see a drop in quality of care because the money won’t be there to keep standards up. These doubts fill my mind when I think about it. For me it’s not what the Congressional Budget Office says it’s the real world standards will this legislation be helpful or harmful. Will this legislation help businesses or will it cause major issues destroying businesses in this county in turn killing job. Now the supporters say that businesses will have a tax credit for employee health coverage my answer to them is for how long, is it long term or is it short term because if it’s short term what happens when it goes away. I can honestly say that I am truly fed up with all political parties in this country. You have the democrats on the left who refuse to listen to the concerns of those who don’t fit in their preferred ideology simply going about the enacting of policy’s that would in the presidents own words “fundamental change“our nation regardless of the real world effects. You see I don’t base what I believe on by the Congressional Budget Office it’s on what affects me on the home front the real world standard. It’s on my wallet, it’s in how my parents are going to be affected by the taking a half a trillion dollars out of Medicare and what kind of treatment will they get. It’s when my nieces and my nephew are grown up what will be left behind for them massive debt from our current spending, an America in which the educational system that instead of pushing for better student performances and achievements instead dumbs down the standard for the purpose to get more cash from the federal and state governments. Or are we going to have an environment in which we have the progressive ideology becoming the new religion of the United States. An America in which everyone will be too big to fail and the government will be the holly provider. Where no longer we hold reverence for god but for our planet, what a joke. This country was founded upon the individual not the social group.

All I have seen is that we have no self control when it comes to spending in this country. Our government is willing to let no one fail for a price, when Rom Emanual said “never let a crisis go unwasted “I guess he really meant it. And when it comes to what I feel what’s the most important issue and that is jobs you would think that you would be a little more particular to where the money goes. Giving money to pointless construction projects is not a wise investment. Funding pointless studies at universities doesn’t create long term employment for anybody. And giving money to communities to fund projects that they should be funding on their own is also a waste. The point is you don’t waste precious funds on pointless endeavors; you put the funds in the hands of the proven job makers. Why not create the incentive for the business community to give one more person a job in their business. The facts are you could of given 2.57 million people in this country one year salary of $60,000 and that would have been better spent then what has been chosen already.

Now to the Republican Party this isn’t the party of old, this is the party that became more like the democrats on spending. You say that you represented fiscal conservative mentality when they spent more than any republican congress spent in the past. When I bring up how much spending Obama has done I always get “most of this is bush’s fault” line all the time. My answer to that is yes bush did, when he chose to start the practice of suspending the free market system to protect the free market system you get what’s going on now. The republicans also claimed that they were the party of small government but they empowered it more than ever before. The passing of the Patriot act after nine eleven is still stepping on the freedoms of this country even if against terrorists. And one of the main things that bugged the hell out of me the housing bubble/crisis. When the answer was to let Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac go under and enter into bankruptcy what was the republicans answer the first of many bailouts. When the fed was giving out billions in cheap money what was the republican answer, to let the fed continue to do so. When the fed turned a blind eye to the effects of lending money to high risk individuals their answer was to let it continue on. You have to remember the economic hardships that we face today started back under Bush and the republican’s. It was the head of the New York fed who didn’t see this coming the tax cheat and now treasury secretary Timothy Geitner. In short the party failed, it failed its founding principals and beliefs, and it became more about the conservative progressive agenda. When the democrats labeled the republicans as the party of no they deserved it, it is their ineptitude which makes them less relevant to those they represent.

It’s in the lack luster performance of the republicans you now have outside political groups such as the nine twelve project, and the tea party movement. The issue I have with the tea party movement is that conduct of members during the healthcare legislation marathon you have reports of representatives getting spit on, the throwing of rocks, and use of vulgarity. Violence is never the answer it only adds to the image that the far left wants to portray of the tea party movement. Your vote is your mightiest weapon. The first thing to do is become educated, know where we started from know and understand the constitution, bill of rights, and the other documents which our founders created to guide this nation. Secondly know what’s going on in Washington and the legislation that’s being passed there, find out how it will affect us as a nation and as individuals. It’s about finding the truly worthy candidates to run and who truly represent you and your beliefs. That’s how you change this country to the better. It was apathy that got this country this way it will be due diligence that will return us to our right track. Sizzle on America

I was watching television yesterday and saw something that only adds to the overall perspective that Obama is not doing what’s right for the people of this country but only the fringes. The federal government is going to make sure illegal Immigrates are going to receive full pay and benefits from their employer if they were shorted. The labor department and the ACLU will team together to go into businesses and set up a hot line and ask illegal immigrates to rat out their bosses and employers. Here’s the issue with me when our government should be looking out for American citizens we are now going to have resources being put towards benefiting illegal immigrates. The president is simply doing what bush did and that’s pretending you care about our security in one hand but in the other leave the back door opened. This new program will just send the mixed signals that we have always sent. Its time to get with the program Mr.. President the law of the land says that you have to go threw the legal process of getting a green card and maintaining a standard of citizenship just as all citizens of this country have to do. In the end this is the first step towards Obama’s overall goal of blanket immunity for all illegal immigrates. The thing that concerns me is what will be the real world affects of his overall goal that’s what’s going to scare me.

The real world effect will be an increase of illegal immigrate population in the United States when they find out that they would be grandfathered in under his proposed legislation. The second thing is that if the health care reform stands you would have an increase on the proposed thirty two million that it would cover, putting an ever increasing strain on our medical system. Solving the problem of illegal immigration threw simply opening the front door regardless of not knowing who our new house guests are, is not the answer. I was watching one of the political talk shows when one of the guests referred to our standing problem with national security as a leaky faucet with illegal immigration as one of its many drips. That comparison had really struck me and so has his answer. The guests answer to the problem was to first shut off the water before you try fixing the leak don’t have the water pressure on full blast while you fix it. That’s the answer we need to follow secure our borders first. It’s time to take the defense of our borders north, south, east, and west with the same attention that we gave the Taliban in Afghanistan. I say we take those returning troops and place them on our borders both by land and sea so that we can be sure that we close the gaps. Once we secure our borders then we go after those who chose to hire illegal immigrants especially when we have lack of jobs for those who are citizens of this country. Then we open the door making sure that we have those who want be here or simply want to work and send money home. I want us to have the best of the world to add for the betterment of America.

Now some will simply assume that I am a racist and xenophobic but the truth is the complete opposite. I simply want to secure our borders and insure the country safety. I believe that we as a nation need to know who is here, what kind of persons they are, and finally will they be a detriment or an addition to our society. I believe that we should have the upstanding not the criminal. For my last thoughts on this, when you simply reward citizenship to those who chose to be here by illegal means it only cheapens our citizenship. It also demeans those who did come here legally and took the steps the right way. I say if we are going to reform the immigration system then reward those who came here legally deport those who came here illegally and punish those who chose to employ the illegal. For me it’s simple come here legally, have a comprehensive knowledge of our langue, know the laws, and be good citizens that’s all it takes for me. I want to have the additions not the subtraction. Bacon Bits: Special Interests

This week something happened that I thought could be a mistake by the U.S. Supreme Court that I feel is going to change how our government works. It was the courts overturning of the McCain/Feingold campaign finance reform bill. The ruling stated that the limiting of financial backing by corporations, unions, and special interest groups to political candidates was unconstitutional because private companies were covered under the first amendment and are treated as private citizens. Now I never thought that I would be agreeing with the president on something but this is it partly. The president’s response was predictable; in essence he said that it will allow “big oil, banking, healthcare companies and foreign powers” to control the policies in Washington.

As usual he blames those that the Democratic Party demonizes but I think the president has forgotten to include a few people on that list. Beginning with the unions SEIU, AFL-CIO, UAW, Teamsters, and others that are driving the issues of the Democratic Party. The return for their multi million dollar investment in our president, you get legislation making it easier for unions to get new members called card check, and Union officials in high places with in the government and White House. In particular the sectary of labor, regulation czar and our manufacturing czar all direct hire’s from the unions. Now tell me in time of dispute between unions and the business communities will we have an objective point of view in government, will we have any business friendly policies coming from this white house/ congress. Or are we going to have a massive kick in the butt waiting for our business community’s.

You also have community activist groups such as Acorn, Apollo Alliance, and many more who are helping to direct what the policy’s of the white house and congress are. If this president was true to the idea of keeping special interests out start with your own administration only when the white house is cleansed of every union, social advocate, and self confirmed socialist/communist admire then I will believe you. The only will that should be followed is the American citizens. Not those who would choose to direct policy’s to better fit the demands of an outside force. Sizzle on Bacon

UPDATE: 03/25/10 - Now I wrote this a little while back and since then I have come to a different conclusion. The first thing I have to correct is that this decision doesn’t do what the president mainly blamed it does in that in will allow foreign powers to control US policy. The reason why the constitution prevents any foreign powers to influence our nation’s policies. The second thing that I have to adjust is that I like the decision especially after the whole healthcare being forced down our throats regardless if you wanted to swallow it or not. We need to have advocates in Washington who will be the voice for the majority and be the counter force to the extreme left mentality that the congress seems to have now adopted. I still think that the president is a hypocrite for having direct hires from Union organization’s, far left social advocate groups, and self confirmed socialist/communist admires playing major roles in his administration. My last thought on this is that if our president wanted to actually be free of special interests like he says he wants congress to be why doesn’t do it now that’s the question? Bacon Bits: the beginning

It’s me bacon and its time for bacon bits (use the real stuff the fake ones are kind a nasty). Bacon bits are where I let those random thoughts and points come out and play. The topic is about politics at work. Now I work for a store and one of my good friends got fired for things that were not his fault (job was sucking for him anyways).This pissed me off pretty bad. This person was good at what they did and was an asset to the store I work at. Now I know this is my own opinions and others will disagree and try to contradict it but if you weren’t on scene at the time you don’t know what happened.

When I started to think about the whole situation I came to the conclusion that when a company wants to fire you they will find the means to do it with. I wonder if when this company gets complaints do they ever go ahead and actually investigates them. Do they ever ask the employees who were at those incidents what they saw, do they try to match up what the customers says to what the witness say. Apparently not, most of incidents that they used against my friend were created by the individuals who made the complaints when what they wanted was against company policy and they got pissed off about it. I can personally attest to that fact, I have witnessed most of those incidents and 95% of the time it’s on that particular customer. Wow that being opened minded enough to look at the whole picture. Ink Doesn’t Run From Chuck Norris

 

It has been a while since I last posted, the holiday season gets really busy for me. One thing I did over the last month was read Chuck Norris’ The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book.  And to be honest, this was a truly fun book to read. Not only do you get quite a few laughs, but you also get to hear some heart felt stories. This book will have you laugh and inspire you at the same time.
As I read, it felt as if I was in the same room and talking one on one with Chuck Norris. It was like having a casual conversation. Very friendly, very easy to read. If you haven’t read it, please head over to Amazon.com and purchase it. You wont be disappointed.

I’m also reading one of his other books, Black Belt Patriotism, which so far is very insightful of this country’s current predicaments. I think Chuck Norris is very wise and he has a lot to say. It’s time America listens to men like Chuck Norris and Charlie Daniels. Men who have lived long enough to see where we have been and where we are going in our current political and social areas of life.

I plan on writing more in the coming days and weeks. My goal is to talk about what our current leaders in the White House are doing. I will review some of the recent Executive Orders signed by our President and Commander in Chief. I think all Americans need to be more active in our Great Nation. Let your representatives know how you feel on certain issues. After all, the government was put into place to serve the people, not the other way round. Its all in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence and other founding documents.

Is it just me, or have our current (and most of our previous) politicians been out of touch with the average Joe?  They seem to focus on policies that cater to large businesses, special interests groups, or just themselves. I honestly don't think those in the White House have our best interests in sight. Maybe they think they do, but come on. Health care is not a priority for this nation, getting more troops to Afghanistan is. I don't want anymore Government run programs affecting the way I live, do you?

I propose we find the few honest politicians and get term limits in posed on all current or future politicians. No one to be allowed more than two terms. And lets require them to work at least 6 months in an average Joe job before they can take office. Jobs like retail sales, picking fruit, stocking, or maybe even working at a restaurant. Something that allows them to get familiar with the people they will be working for. Remember the Government was built to work for the people!

The current state of affairs at the White House looks dim to those of us who pay attention. Consider a postcard I saw, it was from the era of World War 2. I believe it had the phrase, “Peace Negotiations” or something along that line with Uncle Sam bending over and the foreign leaders puckering up.
Today we see the exact opposite, President Obama is puckering up all over the world and apologizing for everything the USA has done.

I didn't know being the greatest Nation is the world was a bad thing!
It isn't, but it looks like Obama thinks so.

Unemployment

We have a large number of American citizens on unemployment benefits right now. I believe the number to be somewhere in the millions. That’s not good, unless your a politician.

Lets face it, Unemployment and Welfare are being abused and used, but that’s what our current Government leaders want. You see; what’s happening is- Fred loses his job, files for Unemployment and slowly looks for work. Unemployment kicks in and he’s receiving the equivalent of $10 an hour based of his previous wages. So Fred looks for a job that pays at least $10/hr and refuses to take anything less.

So lets take Unemployment out of the equation and see what happens. This time, Frank loses his job. He was making say $13.50 an hour, 35 hours a week. Frank must quickly find a job to pay bills and eat. He cant find a job at that pay rate, so Frank takes a job at Wal-mart making $9 an hour.

You see Frank is still contributing to society, even if he must cut back on his spending. And while he works at Wal-mart he can continue searching for a better job.

Fred takes the easy way out and lets the government hold his hand. in this manner Fred is taking money from other tax payers, depleting the governments funds-which are already in the red. Those funds could have been used to hire someone.

I think Unemployment, while not a horrible idea, is out of control and should be limited or rewritten. Maybe a balance between Frank and Fred, maybe minimum wage for all who qualify? Or maybe require those who do qualify to work for their local municipalities?
Lets say we give Fred $500 a week for unemployment, provided he looks for work, but also is required to, lets say, 3 days a week clean or mow the local city funded park or in other words work for that money?

This is just some quick thinking. But it would seem Unemployment is an incentive not to work, or not to find a new job quickly-which in turn hurts the economy. Multiply that by millions of unemployed and ouch.
