That was fun. I enjoyed Eagle Eye, it was well made. The acting was on cue. The plot was almost solid, I say that because there were a few things I saw coming, but overall it had a nice suspenseful tone to it.
Now, I’m sure you expect Billy Bob Thornton to play his role with excellence and you’d be right. He did a great job, I felt his portrayal of his character (Agent Thomas Morgan) was spot on. Shia LaBeouf did likewise, stepping up from his previous roles in action movies and showing more emotion with his character (Jerry Shaw), which just gave it more realism. Michelle Monaghan was very convincing as Rachel Holloman if I may, was looking very attractive in a few scenes.
Now before I get to some spoilers and a few things that bothered me; thank you Mr. Spielberg and Caruso for an enjoyable two hours.
Now, what bothers me is that this film could very easily have been part of the Terminator universe. Being in that, a computer system employed by the Government of good old USA to help safe guard the nation and help in finding threats and so forth goes rogue and determines the current administration should be eliminated. Where as with SkyNet (Terminator) a similar system went rogue on a mission to eliminate human life.
Now with that in mind, this computer system uses all the networks to watch us, and then uses us to fulfill her agenda. But to overload an electrical tower to the point of calculating the out come and projectory? come on, not very likely.
Well, go on and go watch it and then tell me what you think!
