I Want My Wookie Back!

I played through the new Endor Campaign for Force Unleashed 2. You play as Starkiller’s clone; sent by Darth Vader to destroy the Rebels on planet Endor. For 80 points on Xbox Live Marketplace it is a good value for about 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay. Now I dislike spoilers as much as the next guy, but I can’t say much more without so doing. Then again, it would seem that 90 percent of you that bought this title have traded it in; so I will go into a little more detail in the next paragraph.

Let me start by saying, “wow, did George Lucas approve this?” Chances are that you have seen the movie Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi. This is when the game takes place and involves some familiar characters. A few of the Ewoks look like Wicket, too! And while the ‘when’ is the same, the story does change.

Starkiller arrives on the forest like moon known as Endor and starts up a hill on his way to an Imperial facility. On the way, he takes out a few Rebels and Ewoks. Yes, those cut and cuddly teddy bear looking creatures that are trying to kill you too! When Starkiller or I should his clone reaches the facility we find Han Solo and Chewbacca. Han is on the roof and will fire projectile rockets at you while you battle Chewbacca who is in an AT-ST (two legged ‘chicken’ walker). After a short battle, you’ll defeat Chewbacca when he gets out and you grab him as Han tries to shot you, you move Chewbacca and he takes the full blast. After which you make short work of an upset Han. Playing through, I was shocked. My heart sunk a little after killing Chewbacca, especially in this manner.

Next we move through the complex taking out Rebels and Stormtroopers alike until we find Princess Leia. Or should I say Jedi Leia as she mentions her brother’s death on Hoth and having become a Jedi herself. I guess that Tauntaun Sleeping bag wasn’t warm enough for Luke? Here you’ll find a challenging boss battle with the Princess. Beat her and that’s a wrap after a cut scene featuring the Emperor killing Vader and ordering the death of this clone.

I must say this was quite fun, despite the obvious continuity issues. I really wonder if George Lucas approved or not. Either way, if you still have the game; you can’t go wrong on this 80 point purchase. Oh and yes there are a few new achievements, too!
